Helleborus Niger: our pride and speciality!
In the 1990s, we started cultivating base material for Helleborus Niger and Helleborus Niger 'Praecox'. In the beginning, they were cultivated in the open air, where the harvesting period was concentrated in July.
In 2000, we switched, step by step, to cultivating the seedlings in plugs, which resulted in a harvesting period in May.
In this way, we were able to gain 8 to 10 weeks in growth. This product is exported all over the world, from the Netherlands to the whole of Europe and, in recent years, also overseas. We produce the seed of the base material ourselves and this is replenished by us every year.
We sow in 2 different cup sizes:
- One seed goes in the 112-hole tray and one can pot up to a pot size of 14 cm.
- Three seeds per cup go in the 84-hole tray and they can be used using a pot size of 15 cm to a pot size of 19 cm, as desired.
90% of the base material is cultivated on contact basis. If we have caught your interest, please contact us.
